Whitetail Deer Hunting Trip – Respect The Land You Hunt
Hunt and respect the land – Image via Wikipedia
Whether you plan on taking a whitetail deer hunting trip to some far away destination or stay close to home, you will typically hunt on someone’s private land or State Game Lands.
What is the difference?
There really is none when it comes to respecting the land. Treat all areas with respect. With most rural land becoming just another development at such a fast pace, finding land to hunt on is a privilege.
I have had the wonderful fortune to hunt for several years on a farm owned by a wonderful older woman who unfortunately passed away last year. While she was alive, whenever I ended a hunt, I always made sure I took her mail to her. I also made sure to give her a little gift each year, whether it was something my wife baked for her, or a little trinket we picked up.
What we gave her did not matter. What mattered was taking time to talk to her and check up on her. We later learned that her family really appreciated those acts.
Not only getting to know the landowner important, but you should always ask where you are permitted to hang your stand and walk. When you know your areas, treat them better than your own.
Remember to treasure each hunting day.
Happy Hunting,
Paul
