Archery Practice
As a buckhunter, you probably know that practice makes perfect. And if you are as obsessed about buck hunting as me, you probably already know that it is easy to shoot your bow too much.
Don’t over do it. It took me a long time to learn this, but it is better to shoot 6 correct arrows then 36 incorrect arrows.
Here are my tips for archery practice:
Get out to the woods and measure distances. I like to get up in my tree stand. Once there, I pick out a specific targets such as an oak tree or other stationary landmarks all around my tree stand. And with the use of a range finder, I calculate distances.
Target Shooting: Based on the distances in the woods, (Usually around 20 to 25 yards) I can set up my target and practice in my backyard.
Then on the day of the hunt, it never hurts to take a practice shot from your stand each day. Focus on something on the ground to see how close you get to it when the shot is made.
Happy Hunting,
